WE {heart} HANDMADE - Christmas Gifts.

This dress is for my niece, Esther's, third birthday (which follows closely with Christmas). I used this PDF pattern found on Etsy.



A scarf constructed completely out of vintage materials. I used instructions from Soule Mama's book, Handmade Home. 



I made three of these beaded flower bouquets! I used instructions from Martha Stewart's book, Encyclopedia of Crafts. The vases are recycled vanilla jars.



I made silhouettes of Ethum and Avre for the great-grandparents. My sister-in-law came up with the idea for this one. She also made silhouettes of her children. I definitely want to make some for myself!

There were more handmade gifts that I never got around to photographing... oh well! Did you make any handmade gift-ables this year??

WE {heart} HANDMADE : Boys Pajama Pants.

Earlier this week I made my boys 'Christmas' jammie pants. No, the material isn't very Christmas-y in a typical sense but they still look at least 'winter-y' to me. I picked an orange-red fabric with bits of brown, green, and white, and used a vintage blue and white stripe for the pockets and patches. I was really hoping I could purchase this Oliver+S pattern but they don't print it in the size I need, anymore. Bummer! I tried searching e-bay and I found one...in Australia, and it was going to be about $50. HA! Okay, it was time for me to get creative. I bought a plain pajama pants pattern at Hancock for $7 and made my own patterns for the pockets and knee patches additions. Look for the tutorial here on the blog next week!

ETHUM'S SUNDAY PROJECT.

On Sunday we stayed home all day. We didn't even go to church since Dave is out of town and I didn't exactly feel like I had the energy to manage both boys during the service. Anyway, I always feel a little guilty on days like this since we live in an apartment complex and the only outdoors Ethum enjoys is on the porch with the parking lot view. I decided to set up a little project that he could, for the most part, work on independently. He loves saying "Ethum's project" and I love hearing him say it. I also love to watch his little fingers working away. He's just so gentle and deliberate. Every kid needs to make a paper chain at least once in their life, right?

CRAFT NIGHT.

For the past couple of weeks I have been hosting a craft night for my friends Emily and Sara. Last night we pulled together the ingredients for fish tacos. It was a great night. This is just a little peek at what we were up to. I hope you all are having a great weekend. Happy Sunday!
