CRAFT NIGHT.

For the past couple of weeks I have been hosting a craft night for my friends Emily and Sara. Last night we pulled together the ingredients for fish tacos. It was a great night. This is just a little peek at what we were up to. I hope you all are having a great weekend. Happy Sunday!

GET A LITTLE FANCY.

Here's a super easy way to spruce up anything from beef teriyaki to baked potatoes. All you have to do is cut your green onions or chives diagonally instead of straight. Voila! Could it be any easier? I bet you'll really impress your friends with this one :) You can also use this technique for other vegetables like carrots and asparagus.

OUTFIT ON THE CHEAP.

Today, my outfit is inspired by J.Crew. Sometimes I browse their catalogs, put an outfit together in my head and then total up the cost. It usually ends up around $300. What?! That's just something I would never do so I like to take that bit of inspiration with me when I'm thrifting or bargain shopping. Here's a list of where I found everything and how much I spent. Shirt: New York and Co. via Salvation Army $3. Pullover: Old Navy during extra 40% off clearance sale $3.50. Knickers: Joe's Jeans via Nordstrom Rack $8. Loafers: hand-me-down from my mother-in-law.
It is so much more rewarding to shop this way. I hope it inspires you to do the same :)

DIY // WOODEN SPOOL ORNAMENT.

SUPPLIES:

• Empty wooden spools
• Craft glue
• Small paint brush
• Glitter
• Buttons with toggle
• Ribbon, lace, or twine
• Scissors
• Wooden skewer

INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Collect your supplies.
2. Use the paint brush to apply the glue to the wooden spools.
3. Sprinkle the spools with glitter.
4. Allow them to dry for about an hour.
5. Thread the buttons onto ribbon and tie a knot.
6. Pull on one side of the ribbon so that the knot goes into the hole (out of visibility).
7. Hang them on your Christmas tree or tie them onto gifts.

A BIRTHDAY TREAT.

Last night my husband, David, made me this delicious dark chocolate bark with pistachios and sea salt as a belated birthday treat. It was such a pleasant suprise. He even found the recipe himself. I think I've got a keeper ;)

ETHUM SAYS.

Recently, as Ethum and I were playing with Avre, I said, "Ethum, do you remember when Avre was in Mommy's belly?", of course his response was, "You ate him?". I think we will call this toddler logic and it really does make perfect sense.
